#1 and #2 looking slightly better

Here is after approximately 3 seconds of editing.  Blogger doesn't exactly make these photos look great or anything.  And your screen will make them look different than mine too.  And now for the vote.

#1:

Or #2:
Or neither?  Or both?  What do you think?  I really want to know.  Should I stop taking pictures of flowers and move onto something more exciting?  Should I get a macro lens so these photos really look great?

I agree, number 2 is better. I like the flower stem on the side-it makes it a little more visually pleasing. And don't stop taking pictures-I love them!

I like #1. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with me that my opinion seems to be contrary to others.
And you should take lots and lots of pictures of my kids. It'd be good practice, and cool for me!

I still like number two. As for taking pictures of flowers, you should branch out and do other things too, at least for the practice and experience, especially if you want to do it as a side job/hobby thing. You could always try to enter them in competitions. But do whatever is going to make you happy. If you don't like taking pictures of other things, then don't. As for the lenses, I don't know. It all depends on what your intentions are with photography.

I really like both, but if you want me to pick, I like #2 a little bit more. I like the greater contrast in the petals. Keep taking pictures - they look great!
